There’s Still Time to Play Six Nations DFS!

Greetings fellow DFS-ers! This month we’re expanding our horizons and turning to a sport we don’t often discuss here are DailyFantasyUK: Rugby. It’s perfect timing too, because the Six Nations is well under way and it’s as exciting as ever!

Will England retain the title? Do Scotland have any chance of pulling off a shock first-time Six Nations win? Or are Ireland simply too far ahead at this point? Right now nothing’s set in stone and there’s still everything to play for. Which, let’s face it, is just how we like it!

So, let’s get stuck into the weekend’s games and explore your daily fantasy options…

The Weekend’s Fixtures

Saturday Ireland V Scotland 14:15
France V England 16:45
Sunday Wales V Italy 15:00

Story of the Competition So Far

As it currently stands, Ireland are at the top of the table with 14 points. Joe Schmidt’s team have had an impressive start, with three straight wins. It hasn’t been easy though—the French in particular put up a really strong fight.

The team also have 2 bonus points—thanks to a new scoring system that awards extra points for things like scoring 4 or more tries in a match or losing by 7 points or fewer. It can seem a bit confusing at first, but we know you’ll soon catch on because DFS-ers are pretty good at totting up points!

Scotland playing Ireland in Six Nations

Both France and Wales have had a tough start, only winning one game each so far. Italy are yet to bag a victory, but they’ve been handed some big matches from the off and still managed to play well. A victory is likely on the horizon for them.

Defending champions England kicked off their campaign with decisive victories over Italy and Wales. Then came the first big shock of the competition—Scotland beating England 25-13 to secure their first Calcutta Cup in 10 years. The Scots have been steadily improving with each game, so it will be interesting to see if they can shake up the results table this weekend.

As you can tell, there’s lots to look out for and plenty of reasons to get involved!

Playing Six Nations DFS

If you’re eager to apply your DFS skills to the rugby this weekend, the good news is that you have lots of options. For the sake of showing you the basics, we’ll use our friends over at PlayOn as an example. They’ve got both one-on-one and multiplayer fantasy contests on for this weekend’s matches, so you can decide whether to play with your mates or go it alone against an internet foe. Pots currently range from 2 to 100 Euros and are likely to climb. Remember to vary your game and work out the best route to avoid those sharks!

So how do the points work? We’d keep a calculator by your side, because there’s a lot going on in rugby! You can pick up points for tackles, line breaks, offloads, assists and metres gained. What you’re really hoping for is plenty of tries—these will bag you 100 points each time.

And Finally…

That should be more than enough to whet your appetite for a weekend of fantasy sport! Rugby is a thrilling game to watch, and with the title still very much up for grabs, it’ll be fascinating to see how it plays out.
