Greetings DFS-ers! Long time no see. We took a little break because, quite honestly, England’s incredible performance at this year’s World Cup was almost too much for us to take. Now that we’ve peeled our jaws off the floor and settled back into regular life, it’s time to turn our attention to the new season.
Spring is in the air and it’s inspired the sports fans here at DailyFantasyUK to go back to our roots and remember why we got into fantasy sports in the first place. If you’re starting afresh this April and fancy taking up or re-visiting DFS as a hobby, you’ve come to the right place.
Greetings fellow DFS-ers! This month we’re expanding our horizons and turning to a sport we don’t often discuss here are DailyFantasyUK: Rugby. It’s perfect timing too, because the Six Nations is well under way and it’s as exciting as ever!
The origins of fantasy sport are somewhat disputed. Some say it began amongst golf fans in 1950. Others suggest the first fantasy football league appeared in Oakland in the early ’60s. The closest thing to modern fantasy sports appeared in 1980, when it was an idea scribbled on a napkin by a journalist.
You may still be in a January funk, but it’s time to shake yourself out of it and start prepping for one of the biggest nights on the sporting calendar. It is, after all, less than a week until the most important game in American football kicks off. Yes, Super Bowl LII will be hitting our screens this Sunday and we’re here to tell you when, how and why you should tune in!
It’s only 6 months until World Cup 2018 finally kicks off and we could not be more excited. As Russia gears up to host what is sure to be a thrilling contest, we’ll soon be turning to the OG teams and weighing up their chances of glory this summer. For now, though, it’s time to concentrate on one of the final wild cards of our series.
Greetings football fans and happy New Year! Now that we’re officially in 2018, we don’t need to make any excuses to look ahead to the World Cup—it’ll be upon us in a matter of months! With this in mind, we’re cracking on with some new teams. If you’re a DailyFantasyUK regular, you’ve already buffed up on Panama, Peru, Iceland and Senegal. An impressive start, sure, but there’s plenty more to cover!
One of the (many) great things about DFS is that, because you can play a variety of sports, there’s always something exciting on the calendar. Christmas is no exception. In fact, we’re entering one of the busiest periods for major games! Andy Williams wasn’t lying, it really is the most wonderful time of the year.
Our World Cup series is in full swing and providing a great distraction from any winter blues. We’ve taken you on a journey from tropical Panama to volcanic Iceland. You’ve even been treated (if we do say so ourselves) to a flying visit to Senegal. Don’t even think about stopping us now because we’re continuing with the good stuff—experienced teams returning in 2018 after a bit of a World Cup drought.
We don’t know about you, but ever since the draws were announced, World Cup fever has taken hold here at DailyFantasyUK. There’s no holding us back! We’re launching straight into another Get to Know. Now that we’ve explored the countries embarking on their first ever World Cup, it’s time to consider the teams who are returning after a significant hiatus.
Welcome back to our Get to Know series! As the competition in Russia fast approaches, we want you to be prepared to have your best summer of DFS yet. We’re dropping facts and player picks for some of the more obscure teams taking part in the 2018 World Cup. If you think they’ll need a bit of persuading, just bring up some of these reasons next time you’re down the pub…
