FanDuel & DraftKings Miss the Jackpot in Nevada

Nevada daily fantasy sports has suffered a real blow after a State committee rejected a DraftKings/FanDuel legal petition.

Lobbyists for the two companies put forward a ‘fantasy sports license’ petition last week. This license would be new for the State, which already has comprehensive sports gambling licensing in place.

New York Governor signs Daily Fantasy Sports legalisation bill

New Yorkers can once again play daily fantasy sports, as it has finally been fully legalised and regulated. On August 3rd the state of New York enacted a law enabling daily fantasy sports sites to serve residents.

This comes almost 2 months after NY legislators passed a bill on June 18th to legalise DFS, before adjourning for the year. Since then, everyone had been waiting on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to sign the bill into action.

FanDuel Launches UK Daily Fantasy Football Site

DFS stars FanDuel have launched their daily fantasy football site for UK players.

Though FanDuel have been based in Edinburgh from the very beginning, up to now they’ve only made their tournaments available to players in North America. As one of the two giants of DFS (alongside rivals DraftKings), their absence has been noticeable.

At the end of May, however, the company finally announced a target launch date for August 2016. Sure enough, this month saw the official launch of FanDuel UK!
